Bun dough Makes 8
Flour ( strong ) 200g
Yeast 5g
Milk And Water 60ml (approx. )
Egg 1
Butter or Margarine 50g
Caster Sugar 25g
Method
- Add your yeast in a basin with two 2TSP of water and a little bit of sugar . After cover with cling film and leave in a warm place .
- Sieve the flour in bowl
- Then make a well in the centre of the flour
- Add the beaten egg ,butter or margarine , sugar , yeast and the milk and water mixture . Knead well to form a soft slack dough and knead till the dough is smooth and free from stickiness .
- Keep the dough covered and allow the prove (rise ) in a warm place .
- Divide the bun dough into 8 pieces .
- Mould into ball then into 10cm length
- place on a greased baking sheet cover with a cloth or cling film
- Allow to prove
- Bake at 222c or gas mark 7 or 425F for 15-20 minutes
- When cool glaze with fondant or with water icing ( which I done )
